CREDIT REVIEW AND DISPUTE
Dear client, Thank you for contacting me for your mortgage needs. I have provided below step-by-step instructions on how you can get a free credit report and/or to dispute an item(s) from each bureau. You are entitled to one free credit report from each bureau in a 12-month period.
There are two ways of disputing your credit report. Online with each credit bureau or you may send a written letter to each bureau. Both of these options are outlined below. You can also request all three of your reports from www.annualcreditreport.com. If you plan to dispute items on your credit, go to each bureau separately. Transunion Credit:
Experian Credit:
i. If you have an Experian credit report, click on “Yes, I have a credit report number” ii. If you have an account, login and click on the Dispute information tab iii. If you do not have a report, then you will need to order one from Experian. You can also mail your dispute in. d. Complete all information and submit Equifax Credit:
You will be given three options from each bureau (online, phone, or mail). The fastest way is online. They will send everything to the email address you provide within a short period. If you choose mail, it typically takes up to 30 days for them to send you a credit report, and then you will have to dispute thereafter. Please do not hesitate to contact me and/or one of my assistants if you have any questions. I look forward to speaking with you again soon. Sincerely, Paul E. Skeens
If you are interested in doing things the old fashioned way, we have also provided example letters (See Below) you can complete and send in to each bureau by mail.
